Who We Are at Game Time Athletics
Our Story
My name Is Jeff Michels, and I have been a full time firefighter for Lake County for the last 26+ years. I was born and raised in Winter Garden, and still live there today with my wife and our children. Game Time Athletics has been over 30 years in the making. After graduating high school in 1994, I was hired to be the JV basketball coach at my high school in 1995. I have been coaching ever since. My dad coached my siblings and I, and was also my wife's high school basketball coach and he is still with me now coaching elementary sports. For the last 7 years I have been the elementary athletic director at Foundation Academy. This fall, my wife Emily and I, decided to start our own business in Orange and Lake county elementary schools to share our family's love of sports! Our son Riley plays basketball at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. Our daughter plays basketball in high school, and our youngest son plays basketball in middle school. My coaching resume includes basketball, (3 and 4 year olds in local rec. leagues, elementary, middle school and varsity high school) baseball (high school) soccer (elementary, middle school and high school) football (elementary, middle school, high school and semi pro) volleyball (elementary and middle school). We have coached almost every team sport offered in Florida, and we have a unique ability to make every athlete, regardless of their skill or confidence level, feel at ease with our approach to youth sports. We are excited to branch out and bring our passion to a broader reach. We love sports, we love kids, and we love to introduce sports to beginners as well as push and challenge those who are more skilled and ready to raise their game!
